One of the greatest men in history was Daniel the Prophet. Most of us learned as children the story of God saving Daniel in the lion’s den. But do many of you know how he got there?
King Darius appointed Daniel to a high position within the new government (Daniel 6:3). The people in the government were filled with envy and wanted him removed. When they could find no fault in Daniel, they tricked the king with a decree that nobody should pray to any god or man but the king for 30 days or he would be cast into the den of lions. Unaware of their plan to destroy Daniel the king signed the decree (Daniel 6:7). Knowing the decree had been signed, Daniel continued to pray to God openly, thus forcing the king to throw him into the lion’s den (Daniel 6:10-16).
This Bible story has reminded me of what Senator Bob Leeper has endured with the partisan-party politics over the years. Whether a Democrat, Republican or an Independent, Senator Leeper has always been consistent in his beliefs and core values when others in our government have not.
Senator Bob Leeper stands up for what is right for our district no matter what Frankfort‘s lion‘s den may throw at him. I urge everyone to vote Leeper for State Senator! Stand behind a man of great character, not a label.
